Everything we take on

Every job below is one we do ourselves across El Paso.

Deck Installation

We frame new decks on concrete footings set below grade, sized for the load and span the design calls for. Ledger boards get flashed and bolted into the house framing, not just lag-screwed into siding. We'll walk you through pressure-treated pine, cedar and composite before we order anything.

Deck Repair

Soft boards, wobbly posts, sagging stairs. We pull the bad lumber, check the joists and ledger underneath for rot, and replace what's actually failed instead of just capping it with a new board.

Deck Staining & Sealing

El Paso sun bleaches and dries out wood fast, and an unsealed deck starts to check and splinter within a couple of years. We pressure wash, let the wood dry fully, then apply a stain and sealer rated for UV exposure. Composite decks skip most of this, but boards still get washed down occasionally to stop uneven fading.

Custom Deck Design

Multi-level decks, built-in benches, shade structures over the hot side of the yard, whatever the layout calls for. We design around how the sun actually moves across your property and how you plan to use the space, then price it out before any lumber shows up.

Composite Decking Installation

Composite boards from Trex, TimberTech and similar lines, installed with hidden fastener systems so there's no screw heads showing on top. No yearly staining, no splinters, and the color doesn't fade the way stained pine does after a few El Paso summers.

Deck Railing Repair & Installation

Loose balusters, rotted posts, railing that doesn't meet the 36-inch height code anymore. We rebuild railing to spec and make sure it's actually bolted into solid framing, not just toe-nailed to the rim joist.

Deck Resurfacing & Board Replacement

If the frame and footings are still solid but the decking on top is cupped, gray, or splintering, we strip it off and replace just the boards. It's a faster, cheaper option than a full rebuild when the structure underneath still has life in it.

Pergolas & Covered Decks

A pergola or a solid roof over part of your deck cuts the afternoon heat down a lot, which matters more here than in most places. We tie the structure into the deck framing itself, not just bolt posts into the decking surface.

Deck Demolition & Removal

Sometimes a deck's past saving, between rotted framing, failed footings, or just bad original construction. We tear it out, haul off the lumber and debris, and leave the site graded and ready for whatever comes next.

Screened-In Deck Porches

Screening in a covered deck keeps the bugs out without losing the airflow, which matters during the parts of the year El Paso actually gets humid. We frame the screen panels into the existing structure and add a door that latches instead of one that swings loose in the wind.

How It Works

Four steps, and no surprises in any of them.

01

We come and look

You tell us what you want doing, we look at what is actually there, and we ask the awkward questions early.

02

You get a price

In writing, itemised, free. If something might add cost later we flag it now rather than at the end.

03

We do the work

Same crew throughout. We cover your floors, keep the dust down and tidy up before we leave each day.

04

We walk it with you

You point out anything you are not happy with and we fix it before the invoice, not after.

Common Questions

Things worth asking

Questions that come up once a deck project is actually underway.

Do I need a permit to build a deck in El Paso?
Most deck builds attached to a house require a permit through the city, especially if the deck is elevated or includes a roof structure. Permit requirements depend on deck height, size and whether electrical work is being added, and pulling the permit is handled as part of the project.
How long does it take to build a deck?
A standard single-level deck usually takes one to two weeks from framing to final boards, depending on size and weather. Adding a roof, built-in seating or multiple levels extends that timeline, and staining adds a few more days for drying between coats.
Can a deck be built to a specific budget?
Deck size, footing count, railing style and decking material can all be adjusted to hit a target budget. Pressure-treated pine costs less than composite or cedar, and a simpler railing design also brings the price down.
Is there a guarantee on deck construction work?
Workmanship on framing, footings and installation is guaranteed, and any issue caused by the construction itself gets fixed at no charge. Manufacturer warranties on composite decking or hardware are separate and get passed along at the time of purchase.
Who do I deal with day to day during the project?
The same crew that measured the property and priced the job is the crew doing the work, so there's one point of contact throughout. Questions or changes during the build go straight to the person running the job site, not a separate office.
What decking materials do you work with?
Pressure-treated pine, cedar, and composite boards from brands like Trex and TimberTech are all used regularly, along with wood and steel post and beam framing underneath. Material choice affects both upfront cost and how much upkeep the deck requires down the road.
Can I still use my yard or house while the deck is being built?
Most of the work happens outside and doesn't require access to the inside of the house beyond the ledger board attachment point. There will be tools, lumber and some noise in the yard during work hours, and pets are best kept away from the immediate work area.
How should I prepare the yard before deck construction starts?
Clearing furniture, planters and grills away from the build area makes footing layout and framing go faster. Underground sprinkler lines or utilities in the footing area should be flagged or pointed out before digging starts.
What happens if you find rot or a bigger problem once the old deck is torn out?
If demolition uncovers rotted framing, a failed ledger connection, or footings that don't meet current code, the issue gets flagged before any new construction covers it back up. A revised quote for the additional repair is written up before any further work happens, so there's no cost surprise after the fact.
How do I take care of a new deck once it's finished?
Pressure-treated and cedar decks require restaining every one to two years in this climate because of the sun exposure, while composite decking mainly needs an occasional wash down. Keeping planters and hoses from sitting directly on the boards long-term also helps prevent staining and moisture spots.
